Executive Director at the Center for Business Leaders Against Climate Change – University of Chile
Marina Hermosilla is a member of the Advisory Board of the international NGO World Wildlife Fund for Nature, WWF-Chile. She is also a member of the Expert Advisory Board of the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness project in Chile and of the Presidential Permanent Advisory Commission on Climate Change.
Marina has an Agronomy degree from the University of Chile and has more than 20 years of ample, solid private and public sector experience in strategic environmental management, sustainability and social responsibility. In the 1990s she actively participated in the creation of the Environmental Impact Assessment System in Chile, and she has advised state agencies in the design of environmental management instruments, public policies and regulations.
She served as Sustainability Manager at Walmart Chile, Manager of Environmental Affairs at the Polpaico holding of Switzerland’s Holcim Group, and Manager of Social and Environmental Responsibility at Masisa Chile. Marina has taught at the Faculties of Medicine and Agronomy of the University of Chile and the Master of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Universidad Mayor.
In 2017, she received the Women’s Energy award in the Energy and Environment category from ENEL. With the recognition, for more than a decade the power company has honored women who stand out for their contribution to the country’s development.
