Federico is considered a pioneer in Mexico’s Venture Capital industry. In 2012, together with Fernando Lelo de Larrea, he founded one of the first institutional early-stage venture capital funds in Mexico, Antoni Lelo de Larrea Venture Partners (ALLVP). The fund is a member of the Latin American Venture Capital Association (LAVCA), the Mexican Private Equity Association (AMEXCAP) and the Endeavor Investor Network. As co-founder of ALLVP, Federico has successfully raised money for three funds focused on early-stage investments and early growth. With twenty-five highly innovative companies in two portfolios, the firm has invested in the companies with the greatest potential in the region, such as Cornershop, an on-demand app; Alkanza, a robo-advisor platform for emerging markets; Enlight, a leading provider of solar energy services for residential and commercial clients; weex, a mobile virtual network operator and wallet which is revolutionizing the mobile telecommunications industry; and Dentalia, the main network of dental clinics in Mexico. Federico holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Paris Dauphine.
Federico has extensive experience in marketing, brand creation and development, retail, e-commerce and scaling operations internationally. In 2011, he co-founded Fondeadora, the largest crowdfunding platform in Latin America sold to Kickstarter in 2016, and NUMA Mexico, one of the most active acceleration programs in Mexico. He is also co-founder of AFICO, the Mexican Association of Crowdfunding, and co-president of COMFEI, the Franco-Mexican Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
